It's either too random for skill to have a regular impact, or too rote for skill to matter.
That's why the challenges are all either random, hard to get stuff like vehicle kills on vehicles that don't show up consistently, or rote identical stuff like match completions on modes that tend to last a certain minimum amount of time no matter what. The monetization is geared to guarantee that the average player plays a certain minimum number of hours, because there's a predictable percentage chance of a player buying something from the store based on the number of hours spent online. They won't do that because they don't want players to be able to significantly alter the average amount of time played by being better at the game. Not to mention you can see it on halo which even tracks how many times you leave a game. They don’t have a service record now but I guarantee you they’re gonna add one and your W/L ratio is gonna be trash. You have a week to do the challenges so if you just keep playing and having fun to you’ll get them eventually but to just rage quit when you don’t get the game type you need for a challenge is just being childish - every single game mode and map in quickplay and ranked is a lot of fun IMO and if you leave you’re just fucking over your teammates and making yourself look like an ass. I can maybe understand fishing/camping for vehicles in BTB. The biggest issue is lack of a service record but that’s the kind of thing they’re definitely gonna add eventually because the game still keeps track of your stats even if you can see them yourself Sure, it is a flawed system but it’s also cosmetic items like who cares. I almost didn’t even see the battlepass as an issue til I started coming on here and seeing all the whining. I would rather just play the game to win and have fun than do challenges for cosmetics that I rarely see.
